About Jane

 

Hello, I’m Jane, lovely to meet you, thank you for taking the time to be here. I am a daughter, sister, aunt and dog mumma. A yogini and tantrica. A fighter of fat phobia and body bullshit! I am a passionate sharer and big believer in the power of listening. 

For many years I enjoyed yoga but often found “yoga spaces’ didn’t welcome me in my wholeness. Often feeling a little or a lot out of place, like I didn’t belong. I found myself wondering if other people have also experienced “wellness and yoga spaces” being unwelcoming. Often putting more emphasis on aesthetics and physical ability than the space being open, welcoming and supportive of them exactly as they are, in their wholeness as a human.

Pranayama breathwork is an amazingly accessible practice, if you breathe, you can do it. No stretch pants or flexible body required. Pranayama grounds and stabilises me in a way no other embodied practice can. The first change I noticed when beginning to practise regularly was the experience of my emotions becoming more spacious. I was able to have an awareness of them, rather than being controlled by them. This lead to a deeper and more harmonious relationship with myself, people, country and everything in my life.

I felt called to create the spaces I longed for. Trauma informed and inclusive of everybody, exactly as they are, nothing to change, nothing to fix.

So I got busy learning and unlearning. It has been a gift to learn from many amazing teachers who are also passionate about the spaces we create and hold being more inclusive.

It has been a big lesson so far.

The wonderful thing is as I welcome people to sit with and alongside me, while we breath, move, meditate, dance and embody together, I will keep learning,
